Adam Kohl is available for nocturnal Lepidoptera surveys using a portable generator, 175w mercury vapor bulb, twin 20w blacklights, and a hanging sheet. Sugar bait and nocturnal flower surveys are also available for a more thorough survey.

This service is for private institutions, landowners, or Conservation Commissions looking to survey for rare or common species on their properties as part of a natural resources inventory. Non-Lepidopteran insects attracted to the lights can also be observed and potentially collected and/or identified. Insects that are not state-listed can be collected, spread (if Lepidoptera), and pinned. Proper permitting is required for collecting any state-listed species. Email to inquire.
